Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced back in January that they will be stepping down as senior royals to focus more on their family and charities. After their bombshell announcement, the couple moved to Canada with their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor.

Now, a royal expert is blaming Meghan Markle for denying Archie from forming close relationships with his cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Angela Mollard shared that it would have been nice to see her son being close to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children.

“The royals have all these amazing play opportunities that if they want to put up a bouncy castle, they’re not having to think, ‘will it fit?’ It will fit!” she said. “I think it’s a real shame that Archie’s not part of that. And also for George, Charlotte, and Louis. It would be gorgeous to look after a little cousin. He’s fairly close in age to Louis that could be a friendship throughout his life and he’s being denied that because of the falling out between William and Harry. You would hope that they would think longer term.”

Angela Mollard added that letting Archie have a close bond with relatives may not be important to Meghan Markle. She then pointed out that the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t have a good relationship with her family, unlike Kate Middleton.

“I’m not sure that family in that close, secure family relationship that say Kate has wanted for her children is not necessarily as important to Meghan,” the royal expert noted. “That’s not her background. She doesn’t have that experience of a tangle of siblings falling over each other. I think Harry would want that for his child… I think it’s a real sadness Archie won’t be involved in that and in every opportunity, they should be taking him back to the UK to form those friendships and relationships with those cousins.”

Earlier reports claimed that the public has seen Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son before Prince William, and Kate Middleton’s children did. Royal correspondent Emily Andrews said that Archie only met two of his cousins, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Match in Wokingham, two months after he was born.

“It was interesting actually, that polo match because it was the first time Charlotte and George had met Archie,” Andrews told Yahoo’s Royal Box. “They hadn’t actually met him for two months so that polo match was lovely.”
