Even though Queen Elizabeth supported Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step down as senior royals, the couple is not exempted from facing the consequences of their actions. Aside from losing their HRH titles and the Duke of Sussex’s military title, they will also be banned from using the word “royal” in their future activities.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle then released a statement that they had no intention of using the “Sussex Royal” brand after they officially leave their roles in Spring 2020. However, they noted that Queen Elizabeth or the Government don’t own the term “royal.”

“While there is not any jurisdiction by the monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word “royal” overseas, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use Sussex Royal or any iteration of the word royal in any territory, either with-in the UK or otherwise when the transition occurs spring 2020,” the statement read.

Now, a new report claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to close down their Sussex Royal Foundation as they start their new life outside the Royal family.

Paperwork filed in the UK indicates that the shutting down of the Sussex Royal Foundation has begun as the director of their trading company leaves without a replacement. The remaining directors, British business leaders Stefan Allesch-Taylor, Karen Blackett and Steven Cooper plus broadcaster Kirsty Young, are reportedly not going to be a part of the couple’s new venture.

A previous report claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also let all 15 members of their UK staff go.

“Given their decision to step back, an office at Buckingham Palace is no longer needed,” the source said. "While the details are still being finalized and efforts are being made to redeploy people within the royal household, unfortunately, there will be some redundancies.”

The couple's newly appointed private secretary Fiona Mcilwham, communications chief Sara Latham, Prince Harry’s program co-ordinator Clara Loughran, and assistant communications secretary Marnie Gaffney are few of those who are believed to have been let go by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“The Duke and Duchess have a small team, less than 15 people,” the insider added. “The team are very loyal to the Sussexes and understands and respects the decision they have taken. They are all close and supporting each other. The team are busy helping to set their Royal Highnesses up for the future and working on a series of final engagements.”
