WARNING: This article may have some spoilers for The Good Doctor season 3 finale. Read at your own risk.
The two-part episode of The Good Doctor season 3 is arriving on ABC and there are some intense happenings here. Dr. Shaun Murphy, in particular, will be put in a difficult situation and he needs to make a wise decision. He will be tested in many ways, as he needs to make a tough choice on saving the people whom he loves the most.
In The Good Doctor season 3 finale, a devastating earthquake hits the city of San Jose. This disaster is something that would leave most of the characters in danger, particularly Dr. Glassman, Dr. Melendez, and Lea. These three are at an event when the quake rocks the city, putting them in serious danger. Shaun needs to save himself, and then decide whom he will save first among these three.
In the promo, it looks like Shaun was trapped in a collapsed building and looking for a way out. The clip also shows Dr. Melendez and Dr. Glassman are in both dangers, as well as Lea. They attended a charity event but the earthquake struck the city and threatens their lives. They are all in great danger and it remains to be seen whether or not all of them will survive.
Speaking to TV Insider, executive producer Erin Gunn has something to say about the disaster in The Good Doctor season 3 finale. She said that Shaun's mentor, his attending physician, and the woman he loves are all in the same place. So, the main question here is: where does he go first? He's in a position he has never been before -- physically and emotionally.
Gunn also added that Shaun will be in a very much different place at the top of the fourth installment. What he needs to do now is to make a wise choice, especially since these people are all important to him. But, Shaun also excels at thinking outside the box, so he may come up with another way and could save the lives of the three in the end.
Meanwhile, a lot of shows already shut down production due to COVID-19 concerns. But then, it looks like The Good Doctor isn't affected by the delay. The series will still air the two-part finale on their original release dates. The season finale may also leave a huge cliffhanger in the end, making viewers eager to see more in the fourth installment.
The first part of The Good Doctor season 3 finale will air on Monday, Mar. 23, on ABC, while the second half will be arriving the next Monday, Mar. 30.
