Before she became the Duchess of Cambridge that everyone loves, Kate Middleton is known for her excessive partying ways. In an unearthed photograph, the future queen consort can be seen dancing the night away with her then-boyfriend, Prince William, for his 26th birthday. Prior to the time that they attend different royal engagements and state visits, take a look back when she co-founded an all-girl drinking group and enjoyed the night as a young woman who frequented the poshest pubs in London.
Old photos of the Cambridges obtained by Express from 2018 showed the two partying the night away for his 26th birthday in Club Boujis tent at the Beaufort Polo Club near Tetbury, Gloucestershire. They evidently enjoyed the event as Kate Middleton was seen laughing as she spun on the arms of her then-boyfriend. They were also photographed, throwing their arms in the air while singing her hearts out together.
Aside from being Prince William's 26th birthday, the event also served as a charity polo match. At the time, they were even with Prince Harry and several friends during the day. They also enjoyed a picnic in June rain.
Kate Middleton already displayed her love for photography as she played an amateur photographer, getting a close-up shot with Prince William as they goofed around under the gazebo. A source told People at the time that she looked so happy showing her photos to everyone.
Kate Middleton and Prince William were already dating for about six years then. It was also the time that they survived their breakup after the previous year.
It has been a long time since Kate Middleton painted the town red at London's most exclusive nightclubs. Before she became the wife of Prince William and a full time working senior royal, she was a party girl who often went to different luxurious pubs in the city, Evening Standard noted.
Queen Elizabeth II reportedly disapproved of her "frivolous displays of wealth" in the years before her engagement to Prince William. Royal biographer told The Sun in 2011 that if Prince William and Kate Middleton were not seen at Balmoral together, they were probably enjoying skiing or holidaying on Mustique.
However, at the time, Britain was already in recession, and Queen Elizabeth saw their move as "frivolous displays of wealth," considering it as unpalatable. Kate Middleton was also a regular at London's luxe hotspots in her younger days, from South Kensington's infamous Boujis to the Polynesian-themed Mayfair haunt, Mahiki. She was at the top of the guest list of any West-End establishments, which seemed to fit her stand as the women who co-founded an all-girls drinking society at St. Andrews.
