Like the other celebrities whose shows have been put on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic, Ellen DeGeneres is also taking a break from hosting her TV show. However, the Emmy-winning host doesn't escape intrigues while on self-isolation at her home. The latest speculation about Ellen, allegedly, being mean on her staff and guests brought back the earlier rumors that she was leaving her long-running TV show.

In fall 2018, both the National Enquirer and RadarOnline published a story stating DeGeneres was anxious to find her replacement in The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The TV host/actress supposedly wants to have someone she approves of to ensure that the ratings of her namesake show wouldn't suffer once she retired.

The tabloids floated the name of Extra host Mario Lopez who, allegedly, aiming to replace Ellen. Lopez has been rumored gunning for Ellen's spot after the former filled in for her earlier in the summer of that same year while she was on vacation.

Gossip Cop debunked the story then, citing Lopez' rep as saying the Saved by the Bell actor would never "gun" for anyone's job, especially Ellen's.

In March 2019, Life & Style made the same claim that DeGeneres was searching for her replacement as she planned to retire. Ellen's wife, Portia De Rossi, was, allegedly, pressuring the host to step down.

The outlet added that among the celebrities that DeGeneres was considering as her possible replacement were Neil Patrick Harris, Chrissy Teigen, and Ellie Kemper. There were also rumors that Frozen actress Kristen Bell was being "groomed" to take over the Finding Dory actress.

Gossip Cop disproved all of these rumors about DeGeneres. The site stressed that the daytime talk show host hasn't mentioned anything about an intention to leave her show.

In fact, Ellen has already signed a new contract in May 2019 for another three years of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. This means fans of the show can be assured that Ellen will be on it until 2022.

Ellen has been hosting her show since 2003. The show has won over 30 Emmys.

Over the years, DeGeneres has been the subject of all sorts of rumors. The latest of which is the allegation of being rude to her staff and celebrity guests. It all started when comedian Kevin T. Porter asked his followers to share their most crazy stories about DeGeneres and in exchange, he will give donations to a food bank in LA.

The tweet received hundreds of replies. Many shared their unforgettable experiences with the award-winning host. This was followed by a remark from YouTuber NikkieTutorials (a.k.a. Nikkie de Jager), who said TV host was "cold and distant" when she appeared in the show earlier this year.
