Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly putting their plans to rebrand and launch their latest ventures on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are supposed to announce their next steps this spring but that might have to be moved a little later this year.
A source told Us Weekly that Prince Harry and Meghan have been setting their sights on a "big media splash" before coronavirus impacted the whole world. So, the Sussexes are keeping a low profile, and potentially losing out on opportunities, as everyone is more focused on the pandemic.
The source projected that Prince Harry and Meghan might instead plot a summer or fall season launch of their new brand. Right now, they are working out deals with agents and studios in Los Angeles.
Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back as working members of the royal family in January. Queen Elizabeth accepted their need to be off the royal spotlight, as well as try and earn a private income.
Their deal with the Queen meant that they will no longer officially represent Her Majesty in royal events after March 31. They will, however, still keep some of their patronages but work with these organizations in private.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have formed a new publicity team who will be working for them in their next projects. However, Prince Harry reportedly advised their Hollywood agent, Nick Collins, that they can't accept job offers and deals that will be negative towards the royal family, especially Queen Elizabeth.
According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan received a flood of offers that are worth millions. Many of these offers, however, are promotional and commercial in nature, which might reflect badly on the royal family.
A source said that Prince Harry is still being careful about not upsetting the Queen, his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William. Apparently, the Duke of Sussex does not want to create any bad blood with his relatives especially during this volatile time.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan signed off on their Sussex Royal Instagram on Monday, March 30. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that what's most important right now is for everyone to focus on their health and wellbeing. They said that their work continues even as they will not be visible online. Sources said that they Sussexes are laying low and following quarantine guidelines while settling down in their new home in Los Angeles.
