Prince Harry might soon be irrelevant to the public while the royal family will remain a pretty huge force as they come together in this public health crisis. Some royal experts believe that the Duke of Sussex, and to some extent, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will become a distant memory as they give up their royal roles.

Long-time royal family commentator and biographer Penny Junor implied that Prince Harry and Meghan will be irrelevant because they decided to leave public service as former working royals as the wrong time. Right now, it is this kind of public service that's greatly needed and demanded.

Junor said that the royals have a huge role in times of crisis like a pandemic. They make great morale boosters and they extend the Queen's message to the British public, which is what Prince William and Kate Middleton have done in the last few weeks.

Amid guidelines that prohibit movements and limit face-to-face meetings, Prince William and Kate still performed their royal roles by visiting the NHS or phoning medical frontliners. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge commended these modern-day heroes and also extended the Queen's message of how proud she is of their service to the people.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is back in Los Angeles with Meghan and preparing their new life as non-working royals. Royal commentator Angela Mollard also said that Prince Harry, who was born a royal and is the sixth in line to throne, will be "suffering from irrelevancy." Since the world is focused on surviving this pandemic, then Prince Harry and Meghan cannot pursue the work they want to do.

Mollard said that Prince Harry and Meghan expressed in their final Instagram post that they will be temporarily off social media to figure out their next plans as the world is shifting because of coronavirus. However, the royal expert surmised that it is likely hard for Prince Harry to be separated from the royals and to be unable to contribute to helping the British people.

Further, Mollard said that Prince Harry might be feeling personally isolated as he doesn't have friends in Los Angeles, where he plans to be permanently based with Meghan. He also does not have any family members in his new home, while Meghan has her mother, Doria Ragland, who lives in the same city.

It's unclear when Prince Harry and Meghan will return to U.K. considering the risks of travel these days. Earlier, sources said that they plan to spend time with the Queen this summer in Balmoral.
