Melania Trump has appeared to be quite active in her own duties in the East Wing of the White House. Since the declaration of the national crisis in the United States, the First Lady has been seen in various social media platforms, especially after her PSA video, advising the public about the social distancing guidelines.

Amid the developing cases in the country, she reportedly called in her counterpart in Canada, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau after her recovery. As stated, it is now official that the Prime Minister's wife has already recovered from the COVID-19.

According to The Washington Examiner, the First Lady of the United States "expressed her well wishes" for the Canadian First Lady's "good health." Alongside the healthy thoughts and messages for Sophie, it was also revealed that Melania Trump "reaffirmed her deep appreciation" for the relationship and cooperation between Canada and United States, especially in this time of crisis.

The publication then recalled that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau announced on March 12 that she tested positive for the virus. Since then, she was in quarantine to prevent the further spread, especially to her husband, the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, and their three kids.

While Sophie contracted the virus in mid-March, it was noted that her family did not show the symptoms of COVID-19. It was also revealed that her husband did not take the test since there were no symptoms, and to save the testing kits for the public.

The reports continued to share that during Sophie's quarantine, Justin Trudeau was left with the kids alone with "no nannies" to take care of them. They also reportedly observed self-isolation in their Ottawa residence while the Canadian First Lady was in quarantine in another area of the home.

In a similar report released by The Hill, the brief phone call between Melania Trump and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau also reportedly contained a conversation about the "importance" of the US and Canada's ties amid the pandemic. This comes after Donald Trump restricted all non-essential travels across the US-Canadian border.

In March, the President confirmed the travel restrictions to prevent the further spread of the virus. It was, later on, extended as the cases in the United States continue to worsen.

The White House said that this travel restriction came up in the phone call between Melania Trump and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. The US First Lady reportedly "conveyed" and noted how important it is to have "strong economic ties."
