J-Hope is called “Sunshine” because of his bright smile and bubbly personality. But just like everyone else, it is also impossible for the BTS rapper to be cheerful all the time.

V previously ranked the BTS members as the scariest when angry. And despite his sunshine persona, V placed J-Hope on the second spot, which shocked a lot of ARMYs. The 24-year-old singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor chose Jimin as the scariest one and RM as the least scary.

While many are not convinced that J-Hope is in the top 3 in V’s list as scariest members of BTS, the rapper showed off his scary side during a previous interview when the translator failed to do his job in their 2018 interview in Radio.com.

During the “Ask Me Anything” segment, one ARMY asked about a dating question and RM answered first in English. Jimin also answered the question, but he spoke in Korean. RM, who is the only one who is fluent in English in the group, tried to translate Jimin’s answer.

RM is not only BTS’s leader but he is also their translator when they travel outside Korea. This had always been the case in their tours, appearances, promotions, and even on their trips while filming Bon Voyage.

But since Radio.com had a ready translator on the set, J-Hope signaled him to do his job after seeing RM struggle with the translation. The “Ego” singer appeared to be annoyed as his smile quickly disappeared after the incident. As if that’s not enough, J-Hope grabbed the microphone from RM to not let him translate for the members anymore.

The rest of the BTS boys have always shared how they feel bad for RM for being bombarded with question after question while they stand there and witness his struggle. J-Hope couldn’t take seeing his fellow 94-liner taking all the pressure, and he had been very vocal of wanting to help the BTS leader during interviews.

While J-Hope can speak Chinese and Japanese quite fluently, he initially had a hard time with English. But that doesn’t mean that the BTS star had given up and stopped learning the language.

In their recent guest appearances, J-Hope didn’t only speak in fluent English, but he understood the questions without RM's translations. This just goes to show that he worked so hard to be good at the language, especially because his main goal was to help RM during English interviews.
