Is Red Velvet preparing to launch a new sub-unit made up of Irene and Seulgi? Reveluvs have raised their hopes of this happening after fans spotted the pair filming together.

According to Koreaboo, a fan spotted Seulgi and Irene filming and shared the news on twitter. The possible team-up immediately caught on fire and led to the belief that the two queens were filming for an MV.

However, the original poster shared the opinion that Irene and Seulgi did not seem like they were filming a video. She did say that they were wearing matching black outfits with full makeup. The fan refrained from confirming the set up because it is possible that the Red Velvet members were filming for either a reality show or a music video.

Despite the lack of confirmation or even a statement from SM Entertainment, the news was enough to get the ball rolling for Reveluvs who have always supported Red Velvet's projects.

It can be recalled that Red Velvet recently suffered a major setback after releasing the final chapter of The ReVe Festival  last year when Wendy had a major accident on the stage of the SBS Gayo Daejeon rehearsals.

Wendy suffered from severe injuries which required her to be hospitalized for over three months before she was given an all clear by doctors for discharge. Wendy's release from the hospital was met with well wishes and excitement for the fans for Red Velvet's five-member comeback.

However, based on SM Entertainment's latest statement, it may be a while before Wendy is back to 100 percent health.

"Wendy's health has recovered significantly, but she is still receiving outpatient treatment," they said.

Fans, meanwhile, take comfort in Wendy's recent update that she has been cast for the Korean dub of Trolls: World Tour. Wendy and SF9's Rowoon have been tapped to lend their voices for the Korean version of the film.

Wendy will play the lead character of Poppy while Rowoon will be voicing the male lead, Branch, Soompi reported.

In related news, Red Velvet's Bad Boy has finally been certified as platinum by Gaon after the track officially surpassed 2.5 million downloads.

The track is the first Red Velvet song to achieve the platinum rank by Gaon Music Chart but is actually the third track to surpass 2.5 million downloads next to Russian Roulette and Red Flavor. Gaon Music chart only honored tracks released beyond 2018.
