Donald Trump and Boris Johnson have become the faces of many headlines earlier this week amid the worsening cases of COVID-19 in both the United States and the United Kingdom. While the US President tested negative for the virus, the British leader has been reportedly admitted to the intensive care unit of London's St Thomas's Hospital on Monday due to his "worsened" condition after testing positive to the novel coronavirus.

Following the shocking news, Business Insider revealed that Trump told a press briefing that he had contacted "genius" pharmaceutical companies to help and offer support to Boris Johnson, as well as his doctors for the Prime Minister's treatment. He reportedly said that he asked these companies to "contact London immediately."

Donald Trump was also said to add that the two unnamed drug companies have "advanced therapeutics," and have arrived in the UK's capital already. "They are ready to go," he said.

A day after the US President's offer, it was reported that Boris Johnson's spokesperson "politely declined" the help and assistance given by Trump. As stated, all of the treatments that the United Kingdom Prime Minister has been receiving are "a matter for his doctors."

The spokesperson also reportedly said that they are "confident" the Boris Johnson is receiving the "best possible care" from UK's National Health Service. Nevertheless, the spokesperson thanked everyone who wished him well "overnight."

According to The Sun UK, Donald Trump went on to share that he was "sad" to hear that the Prime Minister was taken to the ICU. He then said that getting into such care is "very, very serious."

In the end, the US President stated that the American people are all praying for his recovery. He has been a "good friend," he said.

While no statements were heard from the US administration, especially Donald Trump, after the reported rejection, new details to Boris Johnson's condition were shared with the public on the same day. As per the spokesperson, the UK Prime Minister's status has been "stable," and he has remained "in good spirits."

On Thursday, NBC News shared that Boris Johnson has been moved out from the ICU back to the ward of the London hospital. It was said that he is now in the "early phase" of his recovery. His spokesperson continued to reveal that the UK leader wanted to thank the National Health Service for the "brilliant care" he had received.
