Melania Trump announced earlier last month that the annual White House Easter Egg Roll will be cancelled due to the worsening cases of COVID-19 in the United States. In accordance with the officials' guidelines to stay indoors to prevent the further spread of the virus, all huge gatherings, including especially the 142nd Easter Egg Roll are prohibited.

The annual event in the White House was said to feature several activities for all the participants and attendees. There are also concerts and games for the said event.

Sadly, though, this will no longer happen due to the unfortunate crisis that the US and the rest of the world have been facing. Even so, it was revealed that Melania Trump was still able to "spread cheer" ahead of Easter Sunday.

According to The Washington Times, the First Lady recently gave out over 25,000 commemorative wooden eggs to several hospitals, agencies, store chains, and aide groups. It was noted that the "pastel-colored eggs" are supposed to be given out to all those who would have attended the annual Easter Egg Roll inside the White House.

Since the event has been cancelled and Easter is already approaching, it has appeared that Melania Trump decided to donate it all out to the people who are at the front lines, fighting against the "invisible enemy," the COVID-19. It was then revealed that the deliveries of the eggs have been successfully executed on Wednesday and Thursday.

The reports also specified where the eggs were delivered. The areas and institutions included the Department of Health and Human Services, Children's National Hospital, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, and the American Red Cross.

Alongside these hospitals and agencies, Melania Trump also included several local grocery store chains and aid organizations. It was said that the eggs will serve as a "small token of appreciation" for their dedication and effort amid the ongoing crisis.

As added by KWQC-6, the White House Historical Association president, Stewart McLaurin said that the eggs for this year's supposed Easter Egg Roll are made by Maine Wood Concepts. He reportedly revealed that they are "particularly unique" and are "collector's items." The reason being is that they are primarily for an official "event that will never take place."

The publication then went on to share that Melania Trump also released a brief video message on the same day, thanking all the medical professionals and workers. She said that it is because of them why the rest of America is receiving the "care and treatment that they need."
