Prince William recently praised Britain’s community spirit during the coronavirus pandemic. The Duke of Cambridge noted that the UK is "at its best" amid the global health crisis.
As for the Royal Family, is the public impressed with how they handle the coronavirus outbreak as well? Express launches a poll so people will get the chance to vote for the member of the Royal family that inspired them the most during the pandemic.
There are a lot of Royal family members to choose from. First up is Queen Elizabeth, who delivered an emotional televised speech where she thanked frontline NHS staff, care workers, and people who have been helping out during the coronavirus pandemic. Her Majesty didn’t only urge everyone to rally against COVID-19, the Queen also gave people hope.
"I hope in the years to come everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge,” Queen Elizabeth said. "And those who come after us will say that the Britons of this generation were as strong as any. That the attributes of self-discipline, of quiet, good-humored resolve and of fellow feeling still characterize this country.”
Next is Prince Charles. Even though the Prince of Wales was hospitalized due to COVID-19, he kept in touch with the public during isolation.
The future King then delivered a powerful speech after his recovery. He opened the NHS Nightingale Hospital at east London’s ExCeL center via video link and thanked everyone who took part in helping the public during the lockdown.
Prince Charles then lifted everyone’s spirit by saying, “None of us can say when this will end, but end it will.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton talked with teachers and pupils at a school in Lancashire via a video call during the lockdown. The Duke of Cambridge also held a video call with some charities that will benefit from the National Emergencies Trust (NET) funding. He noted that he wanted to make sure that the funding will reach those who need it.
"I want to make sure that the NET is getting it right and that the money is being distributed to the right people at the right time and that also you're feeling supported,” the Duke of Cambridge told Dal Dy Dir, a community farm in Powys, Wales. "It's got to be reassuring for everyone when so much is changing around them to know that you're still there and your team are still looking out for them."
There are still a lot of royals to choose from, such as the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle. Vote here.
