Arsenal FC is in a period of transition and many believe they are headed in the right direction. Mikel Arteta has been tasked to spearhead the turnaround and it appears he is doing well. The latest personality to laud him for turning the gunners around is Brazilian midfielder, David Luiz. He is impressed with the work that the 38-year-old manager has done and believes they are on the right track.

Luiz detailed on ESPN how Arteta has made a big difference for the team in terms of realization. Things are more detailed and explained right now with the team realizing the things they need. That includes identifying roles and working on their game both as individuals and as a team.

"Since that first meeting, I saw, breathed and said now I understand why I am here. Since then, I have been enchanted by the form and conduct he had," Luiz said.

An immediate turnaround is not expected but Arsenal has shown some progress. Before the coronavirus forced football into hiatus, the Gunners were ninth in the Premier League table. Ironically, Arteta was one of the first football personalities who tested positive for COVID-19. However, that did not stop the Gunners' manager from working from home. Arteta has since recovered but remains restricted to his home like everyone else in the world due to the virus.

When Arteta tested positive, Luiz admitted that the team was saddened by it but at the same time frightened. The COVID-19 had been starting to spread on their end and they needed to take the necessary precautions to avoid getting ill.

"We quarantined before everyone else here in England because of that. It was a great warning for us to have someone so close [test positive]," Luiz said.

Like most, the Gunners are left quarantined like other players in the league. But that has not stopped communication between them and their mother teams and coaches. Most are advised to work on their game at home with help from their partners.

"I spent an hour and a half on a video call with Arteta, analyzing games and training sessions from this season," the Brazilian defender said.

The fate of the season will be tackled Friday which will more or less reveal how the current season will be handled. Some speculate that it may be wise to call off the season as the COVID-19 pandemic continues its rampage. For the Gunners, more time to learn and adjust with Arteta may work to their advantage.
