There are a lot of young players who are forecasted to be making the big leap to the big leagues and Eduardo Camavinga is one of them. Only 17-years-old, the French footballer has captured the attention of Zinedine Zidane and seems to be in line for a call by next season.

However, Rennes coach Julien Stephan is not entirely aligned with the idea of seeing his midfielder making the big jump to Real Madrid. If possible, he advises Camavinga to hold off his plans of joining Real by one more year to hone up his skills. Though he sees a lot of promise, moving out early could have dire consequences.

"I always give him the advice to stay one more season at Rennes because it is his training club," the 39-year-old said to AS. "After a good season, that quality leap must always be confirmed and it would be easier for him to do it here."

The primary target of Zizou is Paul Pogba with Camavinga next on the list. The French midfielder made quite an impression and is considered one of the rising young stars in Europe. He appeared in 36 games and made one goal and two assists at Roazhon Park this season, something that caught the eye of Zidane.

Zidane is under a lot of pressure with most feeling his second coming has not resulted in anything promising for Real. Regardless, he continues to find the right talent for the team and that includes infusing young blood in the mix. Camavinga is one of them but an untimely decision could see the 17-year-old spending more time in the sidelines than with the first team.

Camavinga would do well to heed the advice of his coach. A huge contract may make it hard but the 17-year-old needs to think long term. One big contract would be fine but getting succeeding ones may not happen if he fails to impress. Though he can continue to improve under Zidane's watch, he will be under close watch.

Further, passing off for at least one more year could boost his value. Sharpening some aspects of his game could turn work to his benefit and teams monitoring him may up the stakes next season - including Real Madrid.

Camavinga has all the time to think about that now with football action suspended. Teams are busy planning for the future and this includes the influx of young players. In the case of Camavinga, he may want to hold off and heed his coach's advice and make the jump once the time is right.
