"GTA 6" is one of the highly awaited titles, and fans have been talking about it since 2018. While game developer Rockstar Games has not yet revealed anything about the heavily rumored title, countless leaks and rumors about the game are rife online. A new set of information from various insiders tell that the game is much closer to its release date given the status of its story.
"GTA 6" Story
Several claims about the current status of the story of "GTA 6" recently surfaced online. Streamer Chris Liberty93, credited for his prediction about Dan Houser's departure from Rockstar Games, claims that the story for "GTA 6" was finished even before Houser left the studio. Tez2, another reputable Rockstar insider earlier, revealed that the much-awaited sequel to the famous "GTA" series is around 60 to 70 percent done.
The insider also predicted that "GTA 6" might arrive in the next several years. These claims from reputable Rockstar insiders somehow contradict earlier information about the game revealed by Kotaku's Jason Schreier. In a report, Schreier said that the game developer is at the early stage of developing "GTA 6." The game journalist added that Rockstar Games is currently adopting a new strategy that would require introducing content to the title following its launch to reduce crunch.
"GTA 6" Map
Apart from the story, another conflicting claim from trusted insiders is on the size of the game's map. On Reddit, a user named u/CGIzombie shared that they discovered a video from 2014 where the French Rockstar Games leaker Chris Liberty revealed that the pre-production of "GTA 6" had already begun, citing that anonymous sources. Additionally, Liberty93 said that the map of "GTA 6" will be huge and works on the game started as early as 2014.
Schreier earlier said that the map of the game will be relatively small for a "Grand Theft Auto" title, however, it would still be massive by any other standards.
"GTA 6" Release Window
Rockstar Games spent around six or seven years before it finally released "Red Dead Redemption 2." Jason Schreier's report makes it appear that "GTA 6" could be six or seven years away since it just entered into the early stages of production. However, insiders' claims suggest that the much-awaited title could be only two or three years away.
Based on the details, "GTA 6" is indeed happening. However, the confusion lies in when fans should expect the game. While these details are impressive, it is essential to note that these are not official. At this point, only Rockstar Games could confirm the release date, and other details about "GTA 6."
