It's no secret that Venom 2 is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2020. After all, the first movie was a huge success as people arrived in droves to see Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock despite initial negative reviews from critics. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing more of Eddie and his new symbiote friend. It has been confirmed that although the sequel now has an official title, the premiere will also be moved back due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

For a long time, Venom 2 has been referred to as that since Sony Pictures has not yet given the sequel an official title. Not surprisingly, fans believed that the movie could be given a subtitle connected to Carnage since the villain's appearance was teased in the post-credits scene of the first movie. Interestingly, the studio did not disappoint people when the official title was finally revealed. On the other hand, the announcement also confirmed that the film will be delayed for a full year due to COVID-19.

The announcement was made on the official Venom movie Twitter account. The teaser featured a new logo for Venom 2 as well as a caption confirming that the film will be getting a later release date on June 25, 2021. This means that the movie will be delayed by almost a full year than its original premiere date.

Interestingly, the film is now titled Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage. The subtitle is an obvious reference to Cletus Kasady's line in the first movie. In the post-credits scene of Venom, Eddie Brock has returned to journalism and has even been invited to interview an imprisoned serial killer. From there, things immediately got weird for Eddie.

Cletus Kasady somehow decided to welcome Eddie Brock by writing a greeting in his own blood. Although Eddie is disturbed by the sight, he chooses not to show his discomfort to the criminal. However, it looks like Cletus is determined to make his interviewer as uncomfortable as possible, In the end, he declares that when he finally gets out of prison, he promises that there will be "carnage."

Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage will bring back Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock aka Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, and Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady. The sequel was initially scheduled for release on October 2, 2020. Unfortunately, it will be delayed for almost a year because of COVID-19 and it is now set to premiere on June 25, 2021.
