Blake Shelton has said in the past that if ever he and Gwen Stefani would finally decide to tie the knot, their fans wouldn't know it through a tabloid but from singers themselves. And yet, a tabloid claimed to break the news about the supposed wedding of the couple.

Star published a story this week with a headline, "Gwen & Blake Backyard Wedding!." The tabloid claimed the couple has finally decided to exchange vows since they are already stuck together at Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma.

The nuptials, reportedly, attended by some celebrity guests while many of their friends watched the ceremony via Zoom. Star specifically named Nicole Richie and the couple's fellow The Voice judges Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine who watched their exchange of vows through Zoom.

"They're both laid-back and spontaneous, and it just made sense...They didn't need a fanfare, just a handful of loved ones and someone to preside over the nuptials," the source said.

The wedding rumor is a total hoax. Gwen and Blake did not get married while in quarantine. It is true that the No Doubt frontwoman and Shelton are currently staying together at the latter's ranch along with Gwen's kids. However, they never had a backyard wedding.

The couple recently appeared in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon via video chat and they did not show any indication that they got married. No wedding bands were spotted in their fingers.

During the show, Stefani gave his beau his "scheduled haircut." They also sang their duet song, "Nobody But You."

It also appeared that the only thing that makes Stefani busy at the moment is baking and not prepping for a wedding. Shelton revealed to Fallon that his girlfriend has learned how to bake sourdough bread since they started to stay at home.

Gossip Cop noted that this is not the first time Star made up a story about Stefani and Shelton getting married at the latter's estate in Oklahoma. Back in August 2018, the tabloid claimed that the couple had a secret wedding at the ranch. A year later, there was another story that the pair is planning "the wedding of the year" at the ranch.

In late 2015, Shelton and Stefani announced that they were dating. The "God's Country" singer addressed the wedding rumors in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in June 2019.

"Obviously, [our relationship's] gotta lead somewhere, but I promise you, we won't break the news in any of the grocery store trash magazines," Shelton said.
