The Coronavirus outbreak has been bad news for the entertainment industry for some time now. Unfortunately, the pandemic has forced all productions to shut down and theaters are closed so there is no point in releasing new movies in the next few months. Sadly, this has led to the delay of Marvel Cinematic Universe films that are still a year or two away from their intended premiere. The latest MCU flicks that have been delayed are Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

According to Deadline, the still-untitled Spider-Man 3 will be getting a later release date in 2021. Instead of the previously announced date of July 16, 2021, the sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home will be moved to premiere on November 5, 2021. This means that the Tom Holland movie will be delayed by almost three months although it has not yet started filming. In addition to that, the pushback means that the movie originally scheduled for the November 2021 release will be delayed to the following year.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has already been scheduled to premiere on November 5, 2021. However, with Spider-Man 3 now occupying that date, the sequel to the 2016 MCU flick will be released on March 25, 2022. That's a delay of almost four months for the highly anticipated Benedict Cumberbatch movie.

Spider-Man 3 is set to bring back Tom Holland as Peter Parker, who will be struggling with a new dilemma as his identity has been revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home. The film will be produced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, which has agreed to collaborate with the former yet again. Additionally, Holland is expected to reprise his role as the young superhero in another Marvel flick. However, the studios have not yet confirmed which movie Spider-Man will be featured again.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was confirmed during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con but it has also encountered several obstacles. Although director Scott Derrickson was set to helm the sequel, the filmmaker has bowed out of the project due to creative differences. Luckily, it has been confirmed that Sam Raimi will take over the MCU flick. In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as Stephen Strange, the movie will bring back Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and the character is believed to be the main antagonist.

Spider-Man 3 is now scheduled for release on November 5, 2021. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will premiere on March 25, 2022.
