The next stop of Willian Borges da Silva remains unknown and it was previously reported that Liverpool is most likely to be his next stop. That was until the Brazilian footballer mentioned he would prefer to stay in London. That said, the tables have now changed with Arsenal FC looming as the frontrunners to acquire the 31-year-old footballer.

Willian's representatives chatted with ESPN, claiming that the Gunners are most likely the next team that the Brazilian will land with. His love for London is a textbook, a place he brands as his second-home. Further backing that belief is his relationship with David Luiz. But the most important of it all is that the Gunners are willing to grant his wish of getting a three-year deal.

Willian wanted a three-year deal with Chelsea but the Blues were only open to handing him a two-year pact. With both sides unable to reach an agreement, transfer rumors involving multiple teams cropped up. Aside from Liverpool and Arsenal, there were clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Dortmund Borussia mentioned as interested suitors. But if his demands are to be satisfied, Arsenal may have all those concerns covered.

Also, his family will factor into the decision. Willian penned an interesting piece over at the Player's Tribune, detailing how his wife and kids may not want to leave London. He points out how they are enjoying it there, preferring to stay than move elsewhere.

"If you ask my wife if she wants to leave London, she’ll say no. My daughters feel the same way. Of course, Brazil is Brazil, right? It’s our home, our culture. We always feel good when we go there on holiday and see family and friends, but London is my second home," Willian said.

His fate remains up in the air with the state of football still undetermined. There are plans to resume the league with teams now slowly trying to get their players back in training. Even if the games continue, it is likely to be played without fans in attendance. Some are open to the idea while others are not too happy.

This will likely be the case for the next couple of months until a COVID-19 vaccine comes out. To date, multiple trials are being done to develop a cure that normally needs at least a year to reveal.

As for Willian, he is expected to honor his deal until it runs out with Chelsea. He will worry about his future once the current season officially comes to a close.
