After Miley Cyrus was rumored that she would never sing again following her vocal surgery, the 27-year-old pop superstar has proven her detractors wrong. Many were moved when the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker sang a cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" on Saturday Night Live At Home edition.

Back in November, Cyrus underwent vocal cord surgery. The National Enquirer then published an article predicting that the Hannah Montana actress would never sing again because of it.

It claimed that Miley was paying the price of her drinking and smoking habits as these are, allegedly, the reasons for an undisclosed illness that brought her to the operating table. The tabloid also quoted a doctor as saying the most common causes of vocal cord damage are infection, alcohol, drugs, and smoking.

Gossip Cop dismissed the story at the time, citing a source who was familiar with the singer's procedure. The source assured that the surgery went well and Miley was expected to recover fully and could sing again.

Months later, Cryus has flexed her vocal cords on several occasions. She performed at the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood earlier this year. Then over the weekend, Cyrus sang an acoustic cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" as the musical guest during a special episode of SNL

Moreover, the "Slide Away" singer had also scheduled a concert tour this year including performances at the Australia Bushfire Relief concert which was slated in March. However, all of her tour dates have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus is keeping herself really busy during the lockdown. She is currently hosting her own Instagram Live talk show, titled Bright Minded: Live with Miley, to bring joy to those who are staying at home.

Liam Hemsworth's ex-wife is also set to host a virtual 2020 graduation ceremony via Facebook Watch and Instagram Live along with other A-list celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Garner, Olympic champion gymnast Simone Biles, and more. Cyrus is, reportedly, set to sing her inspiring hit song, "The Climb," at the event.

The #Graduation2020: Facebook and Instagram Celebrate The Class of 2020 will kick off on May 15 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT. The multi-hour live broadcast will stream on Facebook Watch.

These are just a few events that are line-up for Miley in the coming month. These clearly debunk any rumor that her earlier vocal cord surgery posed a problem in her singing career.
