Melania Trump has been taking an active role in the government's campaign to stop the spread of the coronavirus. In her recent tweet, the First Lady reiterated to follow the CDC guidelines about social distancing and wearing a face cover especially when out in public places.

Melania's latest tweet seems to be a jab on Mike Pence as it came after the Vice President was criticized for not wearing a face mask during his visit to the Mayo Clinic on Tuesday. Pence's action clearly violates the hospital policy and the CDC guideline.

"As some states slowly start to open businesses, please be sure to check CDC guidelines, continue to practice social distancing & wear a face cover. We need to make sure we slowly get back to normal while still fighting to keep the virus suppressed," Melania tweeted

Pence defied the Mayo Clinic's face mask policy when he visited doctors and patients at Minnesota's medical facility nor when he visited a lab on the campus. Photos and video footage that were taken during the visit shows the Vice President was the only person visible who was not wearing a face covering.

In his defense, Pence said he followed the CDC guidelines which indicate that the face mask is good for preventing the spread of the virus by those who have it. He said he didn't wear a face mask because he is regularly tested for COVID-10 and doesn't have it. The head of the government's Coronavirus Task Force added he wanted to look people in the eye and thank them.

Following the backlash, Mayo Clinic took to Twitter to reveal that Pence was told of their policy before he visited. The tweet has been deleted less than an hour later. It was replaced by a tweet thanking Pence for visiting the facility.

Mrs. Trump has been advocating the wearing of face cover as per CDC recommendations after President Donald Trump said in one of his press conferences that he wouldn't wear one. In her Twitter post, she was seen wearing a face mask.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump has released new PSAs about practical ways for families to stay safe and healthy. In the video, she talked about handwashing and avoiding shaking hands and hugging. She also urged parents to tell their children that the current health crisis will not last forever.

This is just one of the several PSAs that FLOTUS has released so far. She earlier appeared in other PSAs explaining to the public the CDC guidelines about wearing a face covering and proper washing of hands to avoid the virus.
