Apple has formally introduced a 13-inch MacBook Pro, a device that has been making noise in the rumor mill as of late. There were suggestions of a 14-inch variant coming; a slightly smaller version has come out instead.

A leaker who goes by the handle of @_roagame made some interesting insinuations regarding a 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro variant. Per the tweet, the said MacBook Pro variant will come powered by a Core i7-068NG 7 quad-core processor that will be clocked at 2.3 GHz. He adds that this SoC can be boosted until 4.1 GHz.

Other than that, the 2020 MacBook Pro variant will also have 32 GB of RAM and a 4 TB SSD. Aside from the processor, these are serious bumps in the RAM and storage department. Ideally, the current models are maxed out at 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB at the most in terms of storage.

Ideally, the bigger RAM and storage are reserved for the higher MacBook Pro models. That includes the 16-inch variants, which have as much as 64 GB of RAM. In terms of storage, these variants have at least 2 TB of storage as its minimum.

The leaker may be unfamiliar to most, but @_roagame has spilled leaks in the past that came true. This includes revealing how Apple was planning something using the same processor and RAM count. To support his claim, he even shared some photos to back it up. The processor in mention is Intel’s 10th generation Ice Lake chip – the same SoCs that the MacBook Air used when it came out in March.

The latest on the MacBook Pro is that it will also come with a magic keyboard. This should aid users in typing faster and better. Apple.com also confirmed the specs from the said MacBook Pro, revealing a new variant with a 13-inch Retina display, Touch Bar and Touch ID.

Other confirmed features include 16 GB of RAM (3733 MHz), although potential owners can upgrade this up to 32 GB of memory. Further features of the latest MacBook Pro include immersive stereo speakers, an improved all-day battery – all packed in a new portable design. The 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro is already available for order with prices starting at $1,299 and $1,199 for education.

“Whether you’re a college student, a developer, or a creative pro, the 13-inch MacBook Pro delivers powerful performance, a stunning Retina display, and all-day battery life in our most portable pro notebook. Today we’re adding the new Magic Keyboard, doubling the standard storage, and boosting performance, making the 13-inch MacBook Pro an even better value for our customers,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac and iPad Product Marketing.
