Katy Perry regretted that she wasn't able to show off her baby-bump flaunting outfit for the 2020 Met Gala. Instead, the "Never Really Over" singer shared a photo of Jean Paul Gaultier's cone bra corset that she was supposed to wear in the event.

Perry's planned 2020 Met Gala look would have been iconic as it pays homage to one of the most notable outfits of Madonna and at the same time dressing up her baby bump. The iconic cone bra corset was first made famous by Madonna on her 1990 Blonde Ambition World Tour.

"What would have been... #TheMetBall2020," Perry wrote in the caption of a photo of the outfit on a mannequin.

Perry's version is similar to the piece that model Jourdan Dunn wore during the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear show while she was pregnant with her first baby. The "Roar" singer, however, only showed the corset in her IG post so many are wondering how she would style it for the Met Gala.

In Gaultier's 2010 show, Dunn paired it with a tulle skirt, a ball cap, and combat boots. She also accentuated it with leather bracelets on both arms and a bullet shell belt. Many of Katy's fans urged the singer to share the complete outfit.

The 2020 Met Gala was originally scheduled on May 4 but has been postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. Perry is not the only star who shared their Met Gala look while in quarantine.

Julia Roberts also posed in her black-and-white strapless gown in her bathroom. Other celebrities shared their most unforgettable experience at the annual fashion event.

Perry has been adventurous with her look in the past Met Gala events. Last year, she dressed up like a human chandelier complete with candlesticks around her head and waist for the "Camp: Notes on Fashion" theme of the 2019 Met Gala.

Meanwhile, the "Firework" singer is expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom. The 35-year-old songstress first sparked pregnancy rumors earlier this year when she dropped a teaser for "Never Worn White" music video. When the MV was finally released on March 5, Perry confirmed the speculation that she is expecting as she was seen towards the end of the clip holding her belly bump.

A month after the video was released, Katy also revealed that she and Bloom were expecting a daughter. She shared on Instagram a photo of her baby daddy covered in pink cream.

The baby will be Perry's first, and it will be the second for the Lord of the Rings actor. Bloom has a 9-year-old son with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
