Liverpool has a loaded line of strikers led by the likes of Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Robert Firminho. From that cast alone, it makes no sense to add more offensive players. But if transfer rumors materialize, Jurgen Klopp may soon have another offensive sock in the person of Timo Werner. The thought alone sends warning signals to backups. One of them is Divock Origi.

Origi has gotten his share of chances, pinch-hitting for starters when someone gets injured. But with the entry of Werner, there is a chance that he could be pushed farther down the line. Regardless, such has not been a cause for alarm for the Belgian footballer. He is keeping the faith in Klopp and believes adjustments are forthcoming.

Also, Origi is only 25 years old. He knows that he has plenty of room to develop his skills and believes Klopp is the right guy to help him out. Since joining The Reds in 2015, Origi has appeared in 36 matches and registered 33 goals. But consistently being part of the first team is something the Belgian is longing for. With a loaded offensive line, fulfilling that dream may take some time, Het Laatste Nieuws reported.

"Klopp has given me the space to develop myself. I always listen to my instinct and continue to work," Origi said. "We have spoken with Liverpool and we have a nice course ahead of us. I just want to get better here," he added.

With the decision to stay, Origi will just have to be content playing backup and waiting for his number to be called for now. He had his share of filling up the void for Liverpool last season and responded well. That included scoring big goals when The Reds needed it. Most memorable was his performance against Everton in the Premier League, owning the lone goal for that match.

Hope floats over the horizon for Origi. Werner is a target but budget cuts could place that intent lower. Most teams will be out to save money due to the loss of revenue caused by the COVID-19 virus. Seeing that Liverpool has a formidable frontline, adding another one may be held off for at least another year. Origi could be safe for now, waiting for his number to be called. As far as adjustments to be made by Klopp, the Belgian may best worry about that next offseason on the premise that all have been normalized.
