Several Premier League teams will be losing some key players after this season, a reason why several names have been mentioned in transfer rumors. Paris Saint-Germain is one of them and a player they could possibly lose is Thiago Silva.

Silva's contract runs out after this season and a new contract has yet to be discussed. But there is a growing belief that the Brazilian will be moving out to test the market. Aside from Silva, also likely to move out are Layvin Kurzawa and Thomas Meunier. Like Silva, they too have expiring deals, Onze Mundial reported.

But with teams expected to tinker with shaved budgets, it may not be the best time to move out and seek a lucrative payday. There is a chance that PSG may discuss a new short term deal, something that could buy them time at least until next season. That all depends on who things progress once football action resumes. There are plans to restart games by June.

If PSG does lose Silva and other players with expiring deals, targeting replacements is a need. And one player identified is Samuel Umtiti of Barcelona. But the problem here is that the French footballer has shown no indication that he wants out of Barca. The center back has been a target by several other teams as well but none have come close to inking Umtiti. Teams who have expressed interest in him include Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

For his part, Umtiti is more concerned about fighting for his spot and proving to Quigue Setien he deserves a spot on the team. The good news is that Setien seems to be fully confident in the 26-year-old footballer and it may only be a matter of time before he becomes a regular on the first team.

Umtiti is under contract until 2023 with Barcelona. If PSG insists, they need to pay a hefty sum to get the Frenchman. He holds a $32 million termination clause at the moment. But it is also possible that Blaugranes could increase that to turn off interest in Umtiti.

Of course, PSG could still pursue Umtiti since they would save a lot if the three players with expiring contracts do exit. Hence, the best PSG can do for now is consider Umtiti although they may want to widen their targets. Anything can happen in the coming weeks - including players with expiring deals opting to stick with their current teams for at least one more season.
