Microsoft has unveiled a slew of new products for the consumer market, led by the Microsoft Surface Book 3. The device was hardly in the headlines as of late, most focusing on the budget-friendly Microsoft Surface Go 2. The reason behind that was understandable considering most were wary of heavily investing in new devices.

True enough, the Microsoft Surface Book 3 does not come cheap. Its base 13.-5-inch model costs roughly $1,599. But then again, such is justified once the internal specs are revealed. The exterior may not show much difference but the power-packed from within could make professionals seriously consider the latest portable device offering.

Microsoft is offering two sizes of the Surface Book 3. There will be a 13.5- and the 15-inch model. The devices may appear to be thick although this was due to the slope. Overall, it is pretty manageable to bring around. There are two parts of the Surface Book 3. There are the keyboard and the display which doubles as a tablet. The display portion includes the batter and the GPU per Microsoft.com.

The 13.5-inch Microsoft Surface Book 3 features a 3,000x2,000 PixelSense touchscreen display with 267 PPI. Buyers can choose from an Intel Core i5-1035G7 or Core i7-1065G7 chipset. The GPU compliment will depend on which among the two CPUs are chosen. Other than that, it will also have 8 GB of RAM that is upgradeable up to 32 GB. Storage options include 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB PCIe solid-state drives.

The 15-inch model comes with a slightly higher resolution of 3,240x2,2160 PixelSense touchscreen display but mysteriously with only 260 PPI. However, it comes with a 10-point multi-touch feature. Inside, it comes with a quad-core 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor that can be paired with either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or NVIDIA Quadra RTX 3000 graphics. Buyers can choose between a 16 GB or 32 GB RAM. Storage configurations are almost the same as the 13-inch model. The only difference is that it comes with a 2TB PCIe solid-state drive option.

From there, all other features are practically the same. That includes two 3.1 USB-A ports, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, two Surface Connect ports, and a full-sized SDXC card reader. The two devices will also be compatible with Surface Dial and include a front-facing Windows Hello face authentication camera. Both variants also have a 5 MP front-facing camera and an 8 MP rear camera, both capable of recording 1080 HD videos.

The 13.5-inch Surface Book 3 pricing starts at $1,599 while the 15-inch model is at $2,299. Both come with Windows 10 Home edition upon shipment.
