2K Games already has a lot on its plate and the last thing it needs is another glitch to worry about. "WWE 2K20" has already been shelved to give game developers time to improve the game, meaning most have to make do with "WWE 2K19" for now.

The current "WWE 2K" version has been under fire for having poor graphics and in-game glitches and game servers added more woes just recently. Reports of in-game messages claiming that the game servers made its round and most reacted negatively about it even if it was a game that drew heavy criticism. WWE Games addressed the issue, telling everyone to disregard the dubious message and that game server will remain up until the foreseeable future on Twitter.

The announcement gives "WWE 2K19" gamers a bit of a reprieve, especially now that most are left at home using video games as a means to keep them occupied. With "WWE 2K20" not happening, gamers have been advised to try out "WWE 2K Battlegrounds" instead. The arcade-type game may pale in comparison to "WWE 2K's" usual offerings but will have to do for now.

"WWE 2K Battlegrounds" is being used to help buy 2K Games time to make the necessary improvements to the next installment. Further, it also allows new executive franchise producer to get settled in and implement improvements many are calling for.

As far as the controversial in-game message that appeared, the reactions can be treated with a positive note. It shows that despite the disappointment aired by some fans, there are still players still playing "WWE 2K19." But moving forward, it remains that game developers need to find ways to improve the game and make gamers happy.

"WWE 2K Battlegrounds" is a great way to ease the criticism but 2K Games will need to face the real problem at some point. The COVID-19 pandemic has given them a reason to delay another installment for now but that may last for only a couple of months. As of this writing, 2K Games or even Gilmore have yet to release a statement on what improvements they plan to do for the game.

Hence, gamers are left with two wrestling-themed games to enjoy for now. "WWE 2K19" and "WWE 2K Battlegrounds" will have to suffice. The good news is that the latter will be widening its availability as far as game consoles. Aside from the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, it will also be available for the Nintendo Switch and Stadia.
