Meghan Markle may be alike in many ways to Princess Diana and this is probably why Prince Harry married the former TV actress, according to the deceased royal's former butler. But the Duchess of Sussex's similarities with her mother-in-law may also bring a conflict if Princess Diana were still alive today.

Paul Burrell, who served the Princess of Wales for over a decade, said in a recent interview that Prince Harry was attracted to Meghan because she is like his mother in many ways. Both women fought for what they believed in and were not pushovers but their relationship with each other would have not been free of issues.

"I think, possibly, they would have clashed," the former butler said. "I imagine it would have been two strong, independent women with different views on things-it would have been a battle between Meghan's way and Diana's way."

Burrell said, however, suggested that Princess Diana's "fight" was different in that she wanted to have a voice in the royal family. Meghan, on the other hand, seemed to have a "game plan" and sees her relationship and image with the press as a career boost.

The butler said that Princess Diana was not into self-promotion. She spoke out and rebelled against the royal family in the press to show the world what is really going on behind closed doors.

Burrell said his statements about Meghan could be proven true in the years to come when she's on red carpets with various A-list stars. Currently, however, Meghan and Prince Harry have been laying low because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Sussex pair had to postpone the launch of their new foundation, Archewell, because the world is still grappling with the global pandemic.

Prince Harry recently shared in a video that "life has changed dramatically" for everyone that even the royals have to cancel most of their engagements. The Duke of Sussex said that while his Invictus Games has been moved to 2021, the current team are still preparing for next year's activities.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are staying in isolation with their son, Archie Harrison, at a Beverly Hills mansion. They have been spotted delivering food to vulnerable individuals in Los Angeles for the charity Project Angel Food but they have yet to kick off other charity projects under their foundation.

Prince Harry and Meghan recently celebrated Archie's first birthday amid the quarantine orders as well. They will also be celebrating Mother's Day at the safety of their temporary home in Los Angeles since the local government has advised against gatherings and events in this public health crisis.
