Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's exit from the royal family is going to get a movie treatment. The cable network Lifetime announced that it is developing Harry and Meghan: Escaping the Palace, which will dramatize what the press has dubbed as the "Megxit" or Meghan and Prince Harry's royal exit.

Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace is the third Lifetime movie based on the life of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In 2018, the cable network released Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance, which aired just before their royal wedding. In 2019, the sequel Harry and Meghan: Becoming Royal featured their first year of marriage and the birth of their baby, Archie Harrison. All films are not officially endorsed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

According to the press releaseHarry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, will be about "the couple's controversial conscious uncoupling from the crown after the birth of their son Archie." Entertainment Tonight stated that no specific details in the casting of the drama have been announced.

The previous Harry and Meghan films featured different actors in the pivotal roles. In A Royal Romance, Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser played Meghan and Prince Harry, respectively. In the second movie, Tiffany Smith and Charlie Field took on the royal roles.

But the film will likely cover the drama between the Sussex pair and the royal family, as well as their move to Los Angeles. Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace is expected to tackle the bombshell announcement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made on their website in January. It will also most likely feature the Sandringham Summit with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry, where they discussed the future of House Sussex.

The news comes as a biography about Prince Harry and Meghan will hit bookshelves in August. Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family was written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand with the consent of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Scobie and Durand shadowed the couple for a few months for this book, which has already become a bestseller at Amazon's pre-order list. Scobie said that the biography will "go beyond the headlines" and reveal the truth about Megxit, which has been marred by a lot of speculations, misconceptions and rumors.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan are currently staying in lockdown in Los Angeles and haven't gone full throttle on their work. The pair is expected to launch their new foundation, Archewell, if the pandemic crisis has tempered down.
