Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the Royal Family members have traditions and rules to follow to avoid controversy. They are expected to remain neutral in every situation, and most of the time apply the famous “less talk, less mistake” quote.

But recently, Queen Elizabeth ignored her own royal mantra to issue a heartfelt tribute. While Her Majesty normally follows the “never complain, never explain” family tradition, she broke it during a private phone call with Professor Kathleen McCourt, the President of the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation.

An audio clip of the conversation was posted on Twitter by the official Kensington Palace account. Queen Elizabeth can be heard stressing the importance of the roles of the nurses during the coronavirus pandemic. Her Majesty also paid tribute to their tireless efforts throughout the global health crisis. The phone call took place on International Nurses Day.

Last week, Queen Elizabeth earned even more praise for her VE Day speech. The Monarch reflected on her personal memories of World War 2.

"I speak to you today at the same hour as my father did, exactly 75 years ago. His message then was a salute to the men and women at home and abroad who had sacrificed so much in pursuit of what he rightly called a 'great deliverance,’” Queen Elizabeth said."The war had been a total war; it had affected everyone, and no one was immune from its impact. Whether it be the men and women called up to serve; families separated from each other; or people asked to take up new roles and skills to support the war effort, all had a part to play."

Queen Elizabeth then shared how proud she was of the UK. “We are still a nation those brave soldiers, sailors, and airmen would recognize and admire,” she said.

Britons quickly took to social media to praise Queen Elizabeth for her heartfelt speech.

"The Queen nailed that speech again didn’t she!" one wrote. "What a beautiful speech from her majesty the Queen God bless her,” another one shared. "I'm too emotional, just cried over the Queen's speech,” one royal fan said.

Queen Elizabeth has been a huge inspiration to the Britons for decades, and most especially during the coronavirus pandemic. Her Majesty and the Royal Family members have been the source of strength and stability of the public during the crisis.
