MLD Entertainment has removed Daisy's photo from the official MOMOLAND page of the label, leading fans to worry about the fate of the MOMOLAND member.
According to a report by Kpopstarz, Merries are now seeking an explanation from the agency after MLD's website showed only six members promoting as MOMOLAND. Yeonwoo, who left the group last year to focus on her acting career, is now listed as a solo artist.
Another former MOMOLAND member Taeha, terminated her exclusive contract with MLD Entertainment last year after being placed on hiatus for vague reasons. Daisy was also put on extended hiatus by the agency, leading ther mother to complain that being sidelined by the company was causing her daughter to become depressed.
"Daisy is still a member of MLD Entertainment, and it is only recently that Momoland reorganized into a six-member group," MLD Entertainment said in a brief statement.
It can be recalled that last December, MLD Entertainment announced that MOMOLAND will remain active with only six members. The label said that they are still ironing out the details but they will provide updates as soon as it is available.
Some fans believe that MLD's latest move may be related to the accusations lodged against the company by Daisy and her mother. Late last year, Daisy came out of her hiatus to accuse her label of rigging the results of the reality show that led to the debut of MOMOLAND.
According to Daisy, even though she was eliminated from the show, she was invited back by the team to become a part of MOMOLAND. She said she was assured beforehand that even if she loses the competition, the company had a plan for her.
She also accused MLD Entertainment from recovering the cost of the production from the MOMOLAND members through their salaries.
MLD denied her claims and later accused Daisy's mother of threatening the company regarding the issue. They also said that recovering the production cost from the members was part of the agreement the artists and their parents agreed to before they signed on for the program, Korea Times reported.
With Daisy's career hanging in the balance, fans expressed support for her through social media.
"I know Daisy is determined & wise. I hope she doesn't get affected by this event in her life. It's about time she blooms alone with her own flower power. And I wish we meet her again soon (online). All the best Daisy, we love you and don't forget your Merries, cause we will always support you," one fan said.
