Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand had repeated his call on club boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer to secure the signature of Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho. The striker's arrival at Old Trafford will certainly bump things up for the Red Devils, and Ferdinand is convinced the youngster will dial up the club's talent and creativity.

The 20-year-old, who has cleared the net 19 times in the season with 15 assists, is all about flair and imagination, and according to Ferdinand, he would be delighted to see his former club adding the prolific attacker to the roster.

Sancho is on the radar of elite clubs in Europe, but United is tipped to be on the lead of suitors wanting to get his yes. Should that be the case, and if money is not an issue, Ferdinand urged Solskjaer to bring the young talent back to England.

"I hope they do [sign Sancho] ... He's got that imagination, that carefree spirit - almost like that playground footballer vibe that I love. And he's bringing it all to the big stage," Metro reported the former United defender as saying.

The Dortmund winger, however, has a £120 million valuation that prompted rival clubs to drop their bid on the rising superstar. The cash damage though of acquiring the player from the Bundesliga could be reduced in light of the raging coronavirus pandemic.

Such a possibility is true, as admitted by Dortmund chief Carsten Cramer. But the executive also made clear that releasing a young talent like Sancho will not be easy and reiterated that the team will work hard to convince the player to stay.

"We want to keep our players at Dortmund for as long as possible ... The less clubs interested in Jadon, the less we would complain," Cramer said.

Meanwhile, former South London coach Sayce Holmes-Lewis had attested to the fact that Sancho was born with his football skills, and it already manifested when the player was only 12 years old.

In a report by The Sun, Holmes-Lewis recalled a session with the young Sancho, in which the boy showed how football came naturally for him. The coach taught the boy a routine that, in turn, was absorbed and executed by the student in just an hour.

"I'd show him and by the end of the session, he'd got it. It was embarrassing for me because I was almost 30 at the time, had worked on these skills all summer and it took him an hour to master," the coach was reported as saying.

That same student Holmes-Lewis eight years ago signed up later with Manchester City and flourished further in Germany. Sancho could soon be back home, where he will be headlining for the Red Devils.
