Queen Elizabeth is doing her own hair while in isolation. Her Majesty has to practice social distancing from her longtime hairdresser, Ian Carmichael, since her health has to be protected from the deadly coronavirus.

According to The Sun, the Queen styled her own hair when she did her two televised address during this lockdown, which were aired in April and May. A source, reportedly, said that the monarch has done her hair before if Carmichael wasn't available, such as when she's staying at Balmoral for the summer.

Apparently, Queen Elizabeth is used to washing, drying and setting her hair into a "Barnet," her signature style. She has had a lot of practice doing her own hair in her 68 years as a public figure.

Carmichael couldn't come to Windsor Castle, where the Queen is isolating with Prince Philip since the middle of March, as per government's orders. Outsiders have been restricted from visiting the site to protect the royals from contracting coronavirus. At this point, those who work personal care services, such as hairdressers, put a higher risk for spreading the virus because of their close contact with their clients.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have been carrying on at Windsor with only less than 25 staff members since they have to limit their contact from people. The couple will be staying at the country estate well over the summer. Usually, the royal family travels to Balmoral by June or July but that won't be possible now since the country has to ensure that the Queen is safe from the virus. Thus, her movements must be limited.

A source said that Carmichael misses his visits to the Queen but he understands the pressing need to keep her protected. The hairdresser has been working for Queen Elizabeth for more than two decades and remains loyal to Her Majesty. Carmichael has never squealed about what goes on inside the Queen's home.

Meanwhile, as the Queen is currently indisposed, other members of the royal family have stepped up to their public duties amid this health crisis. Her Majesty has apparently given instructions to the senior royals to stand united and get back to basics of their duties as public servants.

Speculations are that the Queen won't like make a public appearance until October, if the situation improves. Until then, she will not do anything that will defy the government's advice, especially for the vulnerable sector against the coronavirus. The Queen, as always, will lead by example and follow the directives set by her government.
