Epic Games started offering "Civilization VI" for free on its store. The game is a part of a series of massive giveaways to advertise the company's ongoing Epic Mega Sale. Sid Meier's turn-based strategy game is one of the four free Epic Store game's recently leaked online.

On Reddit, a user named Detectiveconan77 shared an image reportedly containing the free games that Epic would offer for free during its Mega Sale. "Grand Theft Auto 4" is free starting May 14 while "Civilization VI" is free beginning May 21. Epic collaborated with Rockstar Games, and indeed "Grand Theft Auto 5" was one of the free games.

Sid Meier's "Civilization VI" was confirmed to be one of the free games during the current Epic Mega Sale. According to the leaked photo, the next free game on Epic Store is "Borderlands: The Handsome Collection," starting May 28, 2020. The fourth free game on Epic Store is "Ark Survival Evolved," beginning Jun 4, 2020.

The "Borderlands: The Handsome Collection" is consists of "Borderland 2" and "The Pre-Sequel," along with all the downloadable contents for both titles. If the leak is accurate, it would be an amazing giveaway considering that "Borderlands 2" is one of the popular looter-shooter titles. Meanwhile, "Civilization VI" recently launched Frontier Pass, which falls at the same time it released on the Epic Games Store.

The game's Frontier Pass comes with six DLC packs scheduled to release twice a month. Every pack introduces a combination of new civilizations, city-states, game modes, buildings, districts, maps, leaders, and people. "Civilization VI" is one of the most sought after titles, and getting it for free at Epic Games Store is just fantastic.

Although the context for the recent leak is not revealed, it could be an internal message or some kind of a PR message, according to Gamerant. The image showed all of the games included in the Epic Store's four-week Mega Sale. Surely there would be free games even after the sale, but the leak stops there. So far, there seems to be no trend when it comes to the kind of games released for free on the Epic Store.

The leaker must have obtained the major games that it could get. So far, the first three games in the leak pan out. Meanwhile, the Epic Games Store Mega Sale is still ongoing and would run through Jun 11, 2020.
