A friend of Meghan Markle is speaking up amid reports that the Duchess of Sussex moved to Los Angeles with Prince Harry and their son Archie because she wants to make an acting comeback. Far from what's being speculated, Meghan apparently no longer wants to be on the screen but she has other plans in the works that will still be tied to her former job as an actress.

The Sunday Times reported that Meghan would rather work behind the scenes and probably start a production deal, according to friends. The Duchess of Sussex might form a production company with her husband and produce movies and documentaries touching on their advocacies.

Meghan is also likely to set up a wellness project similar to Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop empire. The Duchess of Sussex, after all, managed the lifestyle blog The Tig before her name hit the headlines because of her relationship with Prince Harry.

The Sussexes are also gearing up for the launch of their new foundation, Archewell. However, few details have been divulged about the project since the timing doesn't feel right when the world is still grappling with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan continue to observe government guidelines in Los Angeles and limit their movements to Zoom meetings when touching base with organizations and charities. As in-person meetings are still discouraged, the Sussexes have been actively working using the digital platform, just like the rest of the royal family.

Amid reports of their Los Angeles stay, however, members of the U.K. Parliament are, reportedly, having issues with Prince Harry and Meghan's use of taxpayers' money. The Sussexes' expenses since their wedding day has been close to $55 million (£44 million).

Norman Baker of the Liberal Democrat broke down the cost of Prince Harry and Meghan's expenses, which covers their wedding, their home at Frogmore Cottage, their staff and personal security, as well as their travels. After the British public had to pay for these expenses, Baker said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex turned their backs on their people when they stepped back as senior royals.

Prince Harry and Meghan, however, have started paying back the cost of the renovation of Frogmore Cottage with a "rental plus" agreement. The couple will settle this expense in installments for the next 11 years.

Prince Charles, on the other hand, is helping out the Sussexes as he foots the bill of their security officers in Los Angeles. The Prince of Wales is shouldering the cost from his private funds and earnings from the Duchy of Cornwall.
