Jadon Sancho appeared in three straight games for Borussia Dortmund but the 20-year-old came off the bench, which triggered concerns that he is not in the best of form. It turned out Sancho is recovering from a calf injury and the youngster is easing back to get into the first-team position.

The last three games by Dortmund saw the winger playing as a substitute, including his team's defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, but according to club boss Lucien Favre, there is nothing to be worried about.

"Jadon was lacking training ... He is getting there slowly. He did well in training and slowly but steadily gets back to his old level. He is getting there, I don't see a problem," Metro reported the team manager as saying.

Favre explained that since the Dortmund ace has been dealing with an injury, a minor one, he clocked insufficient training time, which should explain the absence of the aggressiveness displayed before the Bundesliga season was halted in March.

The campaign so far saw impressive numbers for Sancho on the pitch. In all his appearances in Germany, the winger scored 14 and caught the eyes of the elite clubs in Europe. Speculations are rife the England international will opt for a homecoming next season and he could join Manchester United.

The Red Devils are believed to be the frontrunner of the English sides chasing the signature of the youngster with Chelsea also in top contention.

However, Sancho has been warned not to make the jump back to England too soon as the move could prove ruinous to his career. The rising star should be cautious and learn the lesson of Luka Jovic's transfer from Germany to Real Madrid, according to former BVB midfielder Steffen Freund.

Per the report from Yahoo Sports, Freund recounted the miscalculation committed by the 22-year-old Jovic. The striker was a hot item last season with Eintracht Frankfurt, one of the top teams in Bundesliga, as he cleared the net 17 times.

Tempting offers came and Jovic took the bite the plate served by the Spanish giants. The spell, however, in Madrid proved unimpressive as the Serbian only scored two goals in the season to date. Now there are talks the youngster could be moving out soon.

Freund said Jovic ended up a flop because he moved too soon. In Sancho's case, his past performance showed he is indeed ready for the bigger leagues but to minimize mistake, the winger should take his time.

"It would be good for him to play for Borussia Dortmund now and next year so that he will have more match time," the German was reported as saying.

Sticking with BVB would mean that Sancho will still play for a top-flight club as Dortmund is rated as among the Top 20 in Europe. Freund reminded too that while La Liga and Premier League pay better, the salary in Bundesliga is relatively good so there is no compelling reason to switch sides.
