The Cupertino-based tech juggernaut Apple would release the iOS 14 and make it available for all iPhone models running on iOS 13. It means that Apple would not make changes in the extensive list of devices that were compatible with the upcoming iOS build it rolled out in 2019. if the recent report is accurate, it is good news to owners of iPhone SE and iPhone 6s models.
The latest information about Apple's iOS 14 comes from the Israeli website, The Verifier. According to the cite, a person familiar with the iOS 14 development provided them the latest information. The source revealed that all the iPhone models compatible with the upcoming iOS build are also compatible with the current iOS 13 version.
The list of iPhone models compatible with iOS 14 reportedly includes iPhone XS Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone 8. iPhone models such as iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7 iPhone SE, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone 6s are also reportedly compatible with the forthcoming iOS 14 build. The recently launched iPhone SE 2020, as well as the seventh-generation iPod Touch, is also compatible with Apple's iOS 14 build, according to the report.
The Verifier also reveals that the iOS 14 would be the final major update for the iPhone SE and iPhone 6s. Meanwhile, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus would reportedly get a couple of additional major updates following the release of iOS 14. In other words, the iPhone 7 series could still avail of Apple's iOS updates for even iOS 16 a couple of years from now.
The Cupertino tech giant has not yet released any information related to the iOS 14. Industry analysts and insiders believe that Apple might host the WWDC later on Jun 22, 2020. The consensus is that the upcoming event this month might be the venue for the Cupertino tech juggernaut to announce and provide details about the iOS 14.
If Apple follows its release pattern, the iOS 14 would be released in its beta version following its announcement at the WWDC. Later in the year, it would reach its stable release phase, particularly at the launch of the iPhone 12 series. Earlier leaks claimed that the iOS 14 would be released with a new Clips feature that would enable users to test or preview applications before installing them on compatible iPhone devices.
While this new set of information about the upcoming iOS 14 is exciting, it is worth mentioning that it is not yet official. In this case, take this with a pinch of salt and with skepticism.
