Lili Reinhart has come out. The Riverdale actress revealed in an Instagram post that she is bisexual, a little over a week after news broke that she and her on and off-screen boyfriend, Cole Sprouse, called it quits.
Reinhart posted on her Instagram Story a message of support to the Black Lives Matter protesters as well as to the LGBTQ+ community. The 23-year-old actress said though she hasn't talked about it, she is a very proud bisexual woman. Lili also urged her almost 24 million followers on IG to join her in the "LGTBQ+ for #BlackLivesMatter" protest in West Hollywood, California on Wednesday.
Reinhart's post came as the LGBTQ+ Pride Month kicked off amidst the growing nationwide protests against police brutality and racism following George Floyd's death. Floyd was an unarmed black man who died after a white Minneapolis police officer pinned him to the ground with a knee on his neck.
Lili's revelation of being a bisexual is the recent personal detail that she shared with her fans. Earlier this year, she admitted that she struggled with her mental health in the past particularly when she was starting in the industry.
Meanwhile, Reinhart's recent post about the Black Lives Matter movement wasn't her first. She also tweeted her support to the protesters on Monday. She sympathized with those who feel oppressed and worrying that their leader wouldn't protect them because of the color of their skin.
The Hustlers actress also opened up her IG to any influencer from the black community who wants to share their thoughts about the issues that concern them at the moment and how others can help support black-owned businesses.
She also gave her support to fellow Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan, who earlier opened up about the racial inequality on their show. In her tweets, Morgan said she is tired of "being used as a sidekick" to white characters on the show.
She added that she is paid the least out of all the regular cast members. Morgan also defended her co-stars from people who blame her castmates for the treatment that she is getting at the show.
Reinhart and Morgan are not the only cast members of Riverdale who speak out about racial injustice and showed support to the BLM movement. Sprouse is also participating in protests. Earlier this week, the actor revealed that he was among those who were arrested over the weekend while protesting in Santa Monica.
Reinhart famously played the role of Betty Cooper in The CW series, Riverdale. Sprouse portrays the role of Betty's boyfriend Jughead Jones. Their fans called them "Bughead." Morgan, on the other hand, plays the role of Toni Topaz.
