The upcoming iPad Air could release equipped with a USB-C port, says a new report. Industry analysts claimed that the fourth generation iPad Air could arrive in the second half of this year and would not feature the traditional Lightning port for the first time ever. Many believe that if this is accurate, Apple could cascade this to its future iPhone models.

The latest news about the fourth generation iPad Air comes from Chinese supply chain sources and reported by Japanese blog site Macotakara. According to the blog, the Cupertino tech giant is considering offering the upcoming iPad Air with a radical new design. The forthcoming machine would reportedly feature a more prominent display size of 11-inches and would drop the lightning port.

The report adds that the iPad Air would feature a design similar to that of the current generation iPad Pro with slimmer bezels and most probably a FaceID. Over the years, the Cupertino tech juggernaut follows a policy of increasing the size of the display of its iPad, underlining that possibility of the latest claim. The report also notes that the iPad Air 4 would house Apple's A13 Bionic chip currently found on iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone 11 series.

In May 2020, TFI Securities Analyst and reputable Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo shared in a note to investors that Apple is scheduled to release a 10.8-inch iPad in the second half of 2020. He added that the 9-inch iPad Mini could arrive in the first half of 2021. Kuo, however, failed to mention what type of iPad would come in the second half of 2020.

The industry has seen a fair share of speculations, rumors, and leaks related to the fourth generation iPad Air. In Mar 2020, reliable tipster Lovetodream shared on Twitter that the iPad Air 4 might arrive with a full-screen design and without any notch. It would reportedly feature Touch ID, and Mini LED display. Lovetodream has an impressive record when it comes to Apple products, but since those are not official, the details should be treated with a pinch of salt.

Apart from the iPad Air 4, the Cupertino tech giant is also gearing to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone, the iPhone 12 series. The four models are anticipated to feature OLED displays and 5G support. Macotakara recently shared the dummy images of these four iPhone 12 models, which show little design changes compared to the current generation iPhone 11 series.
