Fans have been waiting for The Boys Season 2 for a long time and there have been concerns that the series might not return until early next year. Luckily, things have changed as the cast and crew of the Amazon Prime show had a virtual reunion with some important news to announce. It looks like the series is finally returning this September. In addition to that, the first three minutes of the premiere episode of the second season has just been revealed and you can watch it below.
It has previously been teased that The Boys Season 2 would air in Summer 2020 although there were concerns that the show's return would be delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Interestingly, it looks like the cast and crew were able to complete much of the production before the mandatory shutdowns. However, the premiere is still slightly delayed to allow for post-production work. Nevertheless, fans can rest assured that the series will be back before the end of the year.
Executive producer Eric Kripke recently reunited with the cast of The Boys for an online reunion that was hosted by Season 2 cast addition Patton Oswalt. In the virtual meeting, it was confirmed that the second season will be just as action-packed as the first one. In addition to that, only the first three episodes will be available for streaming on the premiere date. The next five episodes will then be released on a weekly basis.
At the end of the discussion, the teaser for The Boys Season 2 was screened and it confirmed that the show will return on Amazon Prime on September 4. However, this wasn't the only treat that the cast and crew had prepared for their fans. The episode opens with a serious meeting at Vought International headed by Stan Edgar, who reiterates that The Seven will only answer to him. The meeting is interspliced with scenes of Black Noir going into a bunker and facing off against a soldier who clearly has superpowers as well. However, the man is defeated by Black Noir, who actually takes time to somehow comfort a small child before walking away with the man's head.
The Boys Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime on September 4.
