The warm reception of the industry of the iPhone X and the 2020 iPhone SE might have inspired the Cupertino tech giant Apple to introduce more affordable products for a different set of market segments. The company is probably outfitting less expensive products with powerful internals. This may be the case for the upcoming iPad 8 if the latest set of leaks is to go by.

A Twitter user named a_rumors0000 recently shared that his source MauriQHD has accurate information about the upcoming iPad 8. According to the tipster, Apple's next-generation iPad might house the A12 Bionic Chip, the same silicon that the company equipped the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. It is also the same chipset running under the hood of the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5.

While Apple's A12 Bionic chip is a little slower compared to the A13 chip on the current generation iPhone 11 series, it is not that less powerful. In a review of the chipset conducted earlier, the A12 Bionic chip is as fast as the desktop computer. In other words, an A12 Bionic chip inside the iPad 8 could provide a powerful performance similar to that of a PC or other Windows 10 laptops and notebooks.

Additionally, the industry insider also claimed that the new iPad 8 tablet would have a base internal storage of 64 GB, which is double the size of the base iPad 7 model. Most likely, the Cupertino tech juggernaut will maintain the same external design with the iPad 8 to keep its cost down. Consumers could still expect the upcoming tablet to feature Touch ID home button but possibly with a bigger screen size.

The current generation iPad 7 features a 10.2-inch LCD, and the upcoming tablet might sport a 10.8-inches display panel. The tipster seemingly agreed with TFI Securities Analyst and Apple Tipster Ming-Chi Kuo about the size of the display. Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal any details related to the release window of the iPad 8.

Will Apple make the announcement at the upcoming WWDC this year? At this point, nothing is confirmed yet. According to Wccftech, Apple might offer the iPad 8 for $329, which is a good deal considering that the leaked powerful internals are accurate. It is worth mentioning that while these details are exciting, these are not yet official.

As always, it is safer to take this new set of leaks about the iPad 8 with a pinch of salt and with skepticism.
