Apple's WWDC event is just around the corner if the Cupertino company's event pattern is to go by. The upcoming event traditionally launches new products like new hardware and apps. Rumors have it that Apple might make an important announcement at the WWDC, which is related to its Mac.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg reported that Apple is preparing to announce the transition of its Mac devices from Intel processors to its own ARM chips. The announcement would reportedly happen at this year's WWDC, according to the publication. While the report is still unconfirmed, several tech enthusiasts are speculating on the advantages and disadvantages of Apple's possible move. Some of them are predicting how the Cupertino tech giant would do the transition.

However, it is worth mentioning that even though Apple would announce that the Mac line up would house its new ARM chip, it does not necessarily mean that new hardware would be released this year. Apple still needs app developers to be prepared for ARM mac line up with a new version of Xcode. If not, Apple could just launch a new Mac device that could not run any compatible app.

Aside from the announcement of the new processors for its Mac devices, a recent leak claimed that Apple might introduce a redesigned iMac at the WWDC 2020. The information came from insider Sonny Dickson who said that the new iMac would feature the iPad Pro design language. The new design would sport far thinner bezels like that of the Apple Pro Display XDR, the tipster added.

Additionally, Apple's iMac would feature the custom T2 chip that is already present in some of the Mac lineup. The insider said that the chip would help Apple integrate multiple controllers and security functions. According to the tipster, the upcoming iMac with a revamped design would include sport graphic processors from the AMD Navi series launched in 2019.

Interestingly, the new iMac would reportedly go all-flash in terms of its storage. In other words, Apple will drop the hybrid Fusion Drive System in the upcoming machine. The Cupertino tech juggernaut has not updated the iMac for more than a year, so an update is already due.

It is interesting to note that while these latest set of information about the possible announcements at the WWDC 2020 are exciting, these are not official details. Apple has not yet confirmed if it is indeed holding the WWDC this year considering the current global health crisis. Take this new set of details about the iMac, Mac, and WWDC 2020 with a pinch of salt.
