The iPhone 12 is the rumored upcoming flagship smartphone from the Cupertino tech giant Apple. The upcoming line up is anticipated to launch on Sept 2020. A new report claims that the iPhone 12 is scheduled to enter into production in Jul 2020, but it is not yet clear if all four models will enter in this phase.

The latest information about the iPhone 12 series came from the Taiwan-based publication Digitimes as reported by Macrumors. According to the publication, the Cupertino tech juggernaut will finish the second stage of Engineering Validation and Testing (EVT) of the iPhone 12 series by the end of Jun 2020. It added that the next flagship line up would enter the production of models in Jul if this year.

The report suggests that all iPhone 12 models would enter production in July; however, it is not clear if all the models will launch at the same time. TFI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier said that higher tier iPhone 12 models with mmWave 5G support would be launched at a later date because of challenges in their production. The analyst particularly noted that the antenna in-package design of these iPhone 12 models met some changes in Apr 2020.

Kuo added that lower-tier iPhone 12 models would be released equipped with sub-6GHz 5G support. Granting that the latest information is accurate, the Cupertino tech giant would most likely start production at the earliest time possible to prevent future delays. But, it is worth mentioning that Broadcom, one of Apple's major suppliers earlier, mentioned that the release of the iPhone 12 series would be delayed.

While it is possible that the release of Apple's flagship smartphone would meet some delays, it is highly likely that the company would like to make sure that the iPhone 12 series would launch at the traditional Fall unveiling event. Based on leaks and rumors, the iPhone 12 would be available in four models.

It includes the 5.4-inch iPhone 12, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The most affordable iPhone would reportedly retail at $649 while the most expensive would retail at $1,099, according to speculations. Fans are anticipating that Apple would stick to its usual timeline in releasing its flagship iPhone.

But, Apple, like all other companies with facilities in China, was affected by the current global health crisis caused by the coronavirus. While the latest information about the iPhone 12 series is interesting, it is worth mentioning that it not official. It is safer to take this with a pinch of salt and with skepticism.
