There is little doubt that MONSTA X is one of the most influencial K-pop idols right now. Although the boy group is not as popular in their own country as most groups, they have a strong international fanbase all over the world. So it's no surprise that MONSTA X were invited to take part in the virtual event TIME 100 Talks which featured "extraordinary leaders from every field to spotlight solutions and encourage action toward a better world." In addition to performing two songs, Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. also voiced their support for social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Time 100 Talks was an online event hosted by the magazine that focused on the importance of global cooperation. Additionally, it discussed how the world can build back better after COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn. The event featured computer scientist and businessman Kai-Fu Lee, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, tennis player Naomi Osaka, and South Korean diplomat Ban-Ki Moon. To round out the impressive line-up of speakers, MONSTA X was set to do the opening and closing performances as well as share their hopes for peace and justice.

MONSTA X opened the event with a performance of the song 'Flow' from their new mini-album Fantasia X. Later, they were given the chance to speak before the closing performance. Hyungwon expressed the group's excitement over being a part of an event "that connects people from all over the world." I.M. then followed this up with the idols' support for the social justice.

"As UN Ambassadors for Sustainable Goal 16, we stand for peace and justice. As such, we have supported Black Lives Matter activism and we believe that it's time to acknowledge this issue and fix it," Im Changkyun said. "In addition, with this COVID-19 going around a long time, we truly appreciate and respect all the medical workers and related staff who are sacrificing themselves during this difficult period," Kihyun added.

Minhyuk said, "Please take care, stay positive and we believe that we can and will get through this together." Joohoney also made sure to mention the MONSTA X fans. "We want to thank our Monbebes for supporting us through everything. Without you guy, we would have never been here today." Shownu rounded it all out by saying, "We love you, Monbebe, and we pray for peaceful days of love, justice, and health."

For the closing song, MONSTA X performed 'Someone's Someone' from the English-language album All About Luv. You can watch the performance below.
