In a statement shared by experts, those people who are aged 60 and up, those who are suffering from underlying health issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer, and those who are smoking, are more prone of getting infected and suffer once infected with COVID-19 or the coronavirus. Though this information is all true, experts are still emphasizing that all people could be at risk. No matter what age, the coronavirus can be fatal for everyone. Worse, even for babies.

So, how can we take care of our babies? What are the proper ways to follow to keep them from getting infected?

DON'T LET YOUR BABY WEAR FACE MASK

Face masks are very effective in filtering body fluids like saliva and sweat, which can be the main factor of transmission of COVID-19. Given this reason, experts are highly recommending this stuff for everyone to use specifically for those who work in the medical field.

Unfortunately, for babies, it is never advisable to wear facemasks, as shared by ParentsBabies, especially those who are aged 2 and below, still don't know how to communicate well. They will have no way to inform you if they can still breathe properly or not. It would also not easy for them to remove the mask once they experience difficulty breathing.

So instead of letting your kid wear a mask whenever you bring him outside, you may just want him to be in a stroller with cover, avoid crowded places, or you can just carry your baby (facing towards you) manually. But the best option to do is not to bring your kid outside your house anymore.

WASH THEIR HANDS REGULARLY

Washing the hands regularly with soap and water is still the best way to remove possible germs and viruses that could have lingered in your child's hands, as advised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. So wash your baby's hands often using soap and clean water for 20 seconds, not missing any part of it. Dry it afterward.

SEPARATE ADULT UTENSILS WITH THEIRS

Adults tend to be more exposed to coronavirus than babies. So, just to make sure, better use separate utensils when feeding them. Everything they use when eating should also be sterilized first before usage. Even the food they eat should be clean as well.

KEEP THEM AWAY FROM FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE FEELING UNWELL

Hugging your baby can be very tempting and rewarding especially after a very long stressful day. But if you are or someone from your family is feeling unwell, it is better for you or for that family member not to touch your baby at all costs. Doing so could transmit the virus to your child. And nobody would want that.
