After the dominating win over Sheffield United on Wednesday, highlighted by the Anthony Martial's hat-trick, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brimming with confidence in finishing the season at No. 3 of the Premier League table. The victory pushed the Red Devils just two points behind league No. 4 Chelsea.

Solskjaer said the United squad he deployed on the pitch could have scored more for a comfortable finish but the job was done because his team played "very good football."

The Norwegian declared that rivals can expect more from United that now count from healthier top players such as Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, the latter described by French legend Louis Saha as equal to Kylian Mbappe in terms of quality.

According to Goal, Solskjaer's side is now gunning for Top 4 finish in the competition and the manager appeared confident that the Red Devils can only be lethal in the remaining games to come.

The targeted spot, presently occupied by Leicester City, is six points away or two consecutive wins. And with the way things are going for United, it would seem that the club boss has set a realistic goal. The club has yet to taste defeat since January, a fact that was boosted by the entry of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in the same month.

"We want to win, we want to go up to third, of course, we want to ... Hopefully, we can count the points and only have two teams ahead of us at the end," Solskjaer was reported as saying.

The manager's optimism was further buoyed by Martial replicating the feat that Old Trafford fans last saw with Robin van Persie in 2013. Solskjaer said the three goals delivered by the Frenchman in the match underscored the quality of players starring for United.

What he has now in the roster can only be characterized as world-class and according to the United coach, this was evident in the last two matches of the club.

"With so many players back fit now, everybody can see the quality we have in our ranks," Manchester Evening News reported the Norwegian as saying, adding the level of competition that the full roster brings to the game is nothing short of phenomenal.

Almost in an instant, Solskjaer said he can name the key United players that fit the description. He maintained that David de Gea remains the best score-stopper in the game.

Then there is Rashford, whose quality was affirmed by pundits like Saha as mentioned earlier and by his 19 goals so far in the season.

Not to forget is Pogba and the midfielder is touted to better perform following the struggles in the past months. The World Cup winner is generating excitement on his return and the anticipation is high on how his partnership with Fernandes will bring the Red Devils to their old winning ways.
