The lawyer of the victims of Jeffrey Epstein believes that the firing of U.S. attorney Geoffrey Berman had something to do with the investigation of Prince Andrew. Spencer Kuvin said that the timing of Berman's removal from his office is "highly suspect" just as the U.S. attorney was making a headway into the case.
Kuvin alleged that President Donald Trump or someone from his staff asked Berman to end his probe on Prince Andrew but he refused, which led to his firing. The lawyer staunchly believes that this firing was an internal favor granted at the behest of Trump, according to The Sun.
The victim's lawyers made several other allegations, saying that Berman repeatedly asked Prince Andrew for an interview but he kept refusing. Kuvin also said that Prince Andrew "lied" about cooperating with the FBI's probe and that Trump's close relationship with Prime Minister Boris Johnson might have worked in the Duke of York's favor.
Berman and the prosecutors recently filed a formal request with the U.K. Home Office to interview Prince Andrew about his friend's activities. Epstein, who died by suicide in August 2019, had pending sexual trafficking cases with the U.S. courts.
Kuvin said that his clients are upset over Berman's termination. He urged Prince Andrew to come forward and help the FBI close the case on Epstein's illegal activities.
The lawyer clarified that no one is saying Prince Andrew is also directly involve with his friend's prostitution operation. However, the Duke of York might know details about Epstein's co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite who has been in hiding since 2016.
Maxwell is the former girlfriend of Epstein who brought the young women for him to his home. Allegedly, she has been spotted in Paris during this coronavirus lockdown and may very well still be in the country.
Paris-born Maxwell apparently cannot be extradited to the U.S. because this is not a policy honored by France for its citizens. But while she's staying in France, sources said that she's changing her location every so often to keep detectives off her tail.
Meanwhile, Prince Andrew's lawyers claimed that they have dozen emails to prove they've been cooperative with the FBI. The Duke of York apparently refused to be subjected to the probe after Berman broke their privacy agreement and went to the press in January to say that Prince Andrew had zero cooperation.
