The Celtics will take part when the NBA restarts the season in Orlando on July 30, and there are bets that Boston is on course to win the Eastern Conference competition, meaning the team will land a spot on the 2020 NBA Finals. It's unsurprising if this will happen because the Celtics have a solid lineup, according to Paul Pierce.

Appearing in an ESPN program, Pierce pointed to the fact that Boston boasts not only of a strong squad but the best starting crew in the NBA.

The former NBA star now pundit is talking about the Celtics core players of Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, and Daniel Theis. He described the band as the most complete so far in the league, per the report from Clutch Points.

"In my opinion, Boston has the best starting five in the NBA," Pierce was reported as saying.

The claim made is not without basis, especially on the part of Tatum, who averaged nearly 24 points per page before the season was halted in Match. Pierce said Tatum played like a superstar in the regular season, and the proof to that is Celtics' 43 wins that earned them an invite to the NBA bubble games.

Also, Tatum is not alone in firing up Boston's campaign in the season. NBC Sports said Walker and Brown are giving sufficient support to the Celtics superstar by producing over 20 points every game in the season. Hayward, too is a big factor with his 17.3 points per game.

So it's easy to see that Pierce is making a strong case for the Greens and not because he used to be part of the franchise that remains as the team with the most NBA championships. Pierce's argument is backed by the sterling performance submitted to date by the Boston first five.

NBC added that the Celtics are being regarded by many analysts as one of the favorites to reach the NBA Finals. The minimum expectation is for the team to make the Eastern Conference finals, and Boston has a good shot at winning the showdown and earn a ticket to the ultimate series.

However, the Celtics having a solid and battle-ready crew is not an assurance of a Finals win. The league right now has the fortune of having multiple teams that can shoot down any foes they face.

A good case is the league leader Milwaukee Bucks that is being led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and a robust supporting crew. Then the Lakers and Clippers are out there with their share of NBA superstars wanting to secure more NBA rings.

Worth mentioning too are the Mavericks and the Heat, and they can certainly deliver on the good games expected of them. And not to forget are the Toronto Raptors. The reigning NBA champs saw the exit of Kawhi Leonard and other stars before the season started but are waging an impressive run to defend the title won against the Warriors in 2019.
