Aside from causing a huge scandal, Meghan Markle's latest revelations about the Royal Family will also be resulting in a major "distress" to Queen Elizabeth II and her family. In Prince Harry's wife's court documents for her legal battle against Associated Newspapers Limited, she made several claims about the Firm, asserting she felt "unprotected" by them during her pregnancy.
Royal editor Russell Myers said in an interview on Good Morning Britain that the senior royals would surely be upset at Meghan Markle's explosive disclosures. She also added that the upcoming book about the Sussexes, Finding Freedom, might even make matters worse, Daily Mail reported.
The royal commentator understood that the situation was very depressing; adding the Royal Family would probably "feel upset" by the Duchess of Sussex's other bombshell divulgences. He also found the revelations as "disturbing readings" for the senior royals that might result in high distress.
Myers also looked back at the public statements Her Majesty made about the former actress in January after they dropped the equally shocking announcement about their decision to step down as senior royals. He said it was a heartfelt message when the Queen talked about the family, how they accepted the former actress in the Firm, and how her grandchild's wife made her so impressed.
Hence, Meghan Markle's assertions about feeling unprotected when she was pregnant with Archie would surely be distressing for Queen Elizabeth and other senior royals, like Prince Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. According to Mirror Online, the latest revelations were part of her lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline's publisher, Associated Newspapers Limited.
The former Suits star made a complaint about its published five articles, which included the publication of her handwritten private letter for her father, Thomas Markle. Some of her declarations covered the issues about her wedding, which she claimed had generated £1 billion of tourism revenue, which "far outweighed" the taxpayers' money spent on crowd security.
She also mentioned Prince Harry's cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, saying they managed to keep their titles while working outside the Firm. This was her response to the claims that she was a member of the Royal Family and did not "undertake paid work."
Meghan Markle used Prince Andrew's daughters as an example, also mentioning Prince Michael of Kent, who has a consultancy business of his own. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie also work in private companies as Affiniti's Vice President of Partnerships & Strategy and an art gallery director, respectively.
